Spring is making its way to Salt Lake and with it comes a whole new challenge: mud. It is WAY too tempting for first graders to just leave it be or even outside where is belongs, so extra pairs of socks and/or shoes will come in handy for the next few months as the weather gets warmer. Thank you in advance for being patient with the inevitable mud disasters!
We will be walking to Wasatch Jr. to see their production of The Little Mermaid on Monday, March 13. We will leave Upland at 9:10 to be in our seats by 9:30. The musical will be over by 11:30. I am looking for three parents that are available to walk with us to and from Wasatch and sit with the class during. Please let me know by Thursday, March 9 if you would like to join us.
This week we are reading about inventors like Thomas Edison and Tomotaka Takahashi. The class really liked reading about Takahashi and the robots he created to do amazing tasks. The first graders will work on short stories about inventions or creations this week to go along with the theme. A handful shared ideas for robots that dance, machines that fly and swim, and even ideas about how to keep cool in the summer. I am excited to hear their imaginative story ideas !
Have a wonderful week!
