Mark your calendars for May 11. The school carnival is coming with games, activities, and some delicious dinner choices! If you would like to submit your order for dinner now, blue order forms will be sent home tomorrow. I hope to see you there! Speaking of edible goodies, we are running low on snack. I have two big boxes of fruit snacks left, but they will most likely not last past next week. I would greatly appreciate any donations to help tide us over until the end of the year!
This week we are wrapping up life cycles in reading. The class has been diving deep into what changes plants, animals, and insects go through during their life. We have been writing about how living things change as well. The first graders are doing really well with composing informational pieces.
2-dimensional shapes have been keeping us busy during math. We will take the chapter test tomorrow, then start the last chapter on 3-dimensional shapes. We will get to build different structures out of blocks and boxes this week. It will be a great way to end the year!
Thank you to those that responded to last week's survey. The most requested time slot was from 3-3:30 on May 17th. Your child will have a STEM-based project that we will work on during school, as well as work from the rest of the year, to share with you. I look forward to seeing families then!
Have a wonderful week!
