I want to start the week by saying "THANK YOU!" to the wonderfully patient and enthusiastic parents who joined us on our field trip to the Leonardo. I would not have been able to do it without Mrs. Probst, Mrs. Jorgensen, Mrs. Rigby, or Mrs. LeBaron! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did exploring the exhibits. The pictures we took at the museum can be seen if you click on the class photos tab.
We will be picking up where we left off last week in reading. The class was so busy with completing benchmarks that we did not get to read more than the first text about animal teams! After we read we will write about what we learned about fish, giraffes, shrimp, and other animals.
The first graders explored making numbers with tens and ones today while creating an art project with the first letter in their name. We will continue to work with the concept of tens and ones all the way through 120. We should be pros at making models of any number between 0 and 120 by the 100th day! Our celebration will be next Thursday. A note with more details will be sent home tomorrow.
Have a wonderful week!
