We are in our second week of Work for Upland. The first graders have brought in a total of $92 so far. Thank you for supporting our wonderful PTA! This fundraiser will be wrapped up on Friday. The school carnival will also be this Friday. There will be games, activities, and delicious food for everyone to enjoy. We hope to see you there!
This week we will read about the United States. Today we talked about how people celebrate the harvest season. We will also read about the Fourth of July and what we celebrate on that day. The first graders will finish writing about the mischievous Roscoe Riley tomorrow, then we will write about why we celebrate the Fourth of July.
This week we are working with 3D shapes. Today the class helped put different shapes together to make new shapes. We played a game to see if we could make two identical shapes. The first graders will keep working on building new shapes this week. We will also connect what we know about 2D shapes to the different 3D shapes we're using. That will wrap up the last chapter in math for the year.
Have a wonderful week!
