WooHoo! We made it to the last week of school! I am in a slight state of shock just thinking about how quickly the year has gone by. I will definitely miss all my first grade friends this summer, and am positive they will each grow a foot before I see them again in the fall. I feel so lucky to have had this year with each of them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything this year. I hope you enjoy the fully grown first grader coming home to summer at the end of this week. Please have as many adventures and lazy days as you can!
As for the fun we will be having this week, the forecast calls for weather similar to today on Thursday. Since we will be outside from 9:30-11:30 for field day, please remind your child to come dressed appropriately for the weather. The first and second graders will be cooling off with a movie at 12:30. First graders are welcome to bring a small blanket or small pillow and "clean" snack to enjoy. We will be watching "Robots" in the library, so I'm sure Mrs. Sampson and Mr. Cleveland would appreciate snacks that are not too messy. The movie, Robots, is rated PG. Because of the rating, students need to have parent permission to attend. Please let me know if you would rather your child do an alternative activity.
I look forward to seeing many of you at the picnic on Wednesday. Have a wonderful summer!
